Zainab Fasiki

Zainab Fasiki is a Moroccan Artiviste, working as a graphic artist and activist for women's rights.

A mechanical engineer by training, she has been a member of the Skefkef fanzine since 2014 and founded the feminist and queer art collective WOMEN POWER in 2018.

Zainab became internationally known after 2019, following the publication of her graphic novel 'Hshouma - corps et sexualité au Maroc' which was translated from French into Moroccan Arabic, Spanish, Galician and Italian. Her graphic novel won Le prix du courage, (the bravery award), at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2022.

Zainab also teaches at workshops about the role of political art to shape our mind in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region to critique society and its rules about body and sexual rights.
